Our Professional
Education Team continues to serve practicing pharmacists,
as we have since 1998. This Team is responsible for the Doctor
of Pharmacy Program for Practicing Pharmacists (DP4), Continuing
Education (Online, Live and Enduring) and Certificate Programs
for Pharmacists. As was always intended, the DP4 is now phasing
out. With this program now officially winding down, this team
is busy converting select portions of our didactic curriculum
into CE and certificate programs of interest to the pharmacists
of Minnesota and beyond.
Our Pharmacy Student
Education Team (also referred to as “TEL Team”
for Technology Enhanced Learning) is working with instructional
and technologic enhancements to our traditional curriculum and
also with the College of Pharmacy’s Expansion to the University
of Minnesota–Duluth.
Our External Education
Team develops pharmacy-related educational programs for
University and professional students. This team evolved from our
initial work with Health Sciences Terminology instruction, which
began in January 2001. In the Fall of 2002, we added a new course:
Self Care: A Guide to Today’s Nonprescription Pharmacy.
This team is also developing Pharmacotherapy instruction for health
professionals.
Although our work meets the needs of diverse
audiences, there are several ties that bind us all together. We
all produce educational programs. We’re all interested in
the advancement of education and we all endeavor to make appropriate
use of new technologies.
