Scope of Practice Bill Sent to Floor of House and Senate

House File 3708
Senate File 3581

This bill will expand the Pharmacists Scope of Practice. It allows pharmacists to administer influenza vaccines to all eligible patients 10 years of age and older and allow for the administration of all other vaccines to adults, 18 years of age and older. The second part of the bill removes the case-by-case restriction in collaborative practice agreements.

Please send notes of thanks to all the legislators involved in moving this piece of legislation. Rep. Erin Murphy, Rep. Paul Thissen (Chairman of the House & Human Services committee) and Rep. Cy Thao (Chairman of the Licensure Subcommittee) helped us find a way to get this bill heard in the House and their efforts should be recognized. Senator Kathy Sheran, Senator Tony Lourey (who presented the bill in the Senate House & Humans Services committee), and Senator John Marty (Chairman of the Senate HHS Committee) should also be recognized for their efforts and sent our thanks!

Stay tuned for more updates as this bill moves through the legislature!
