We provide consultation on a range of topics, tailored to your specific needs. In addition, we support TAs assigned to assist you with particular courses.
Design and Development Assistance
The process we promote is essentially a version of applied common sense. Using a "Project Triage" guide and associated form, as a guide and answering a few questions helps you move from what might be a nebulous idea or brainstorm to a concrete set of objectives, strategies, tasks and a timeline for implementation. Of course, our staff is here to walk your through the process or to assist you at any step in this process.
Course Evaluation and Maintenance Strategies
Possibly the most important element in the delivery of high-quality courses or information is the ongoing evaluation of both the content, and the delivery stategies and tools. Our office can assist you in the design, development and ongoing analysis of evaluation mechanisms and data.
The OED provides course-related technical support for students (and faculty) via online resources, and e-mail and phone correspondence. In addition to promoting the creation and maintenance of sophisticated learning environments, we aim to create self-sufficient learners, capable and motivated to continue learning once they leave the classroom setting.
