The Critical Skills to Land a Job
The AAPS Student Chapter organized an interview skills workshop for students and post-docs on April 12th, 2007 at 41 Masonic Cancer Center. The workshop was led by Doneka Scott, Pharm D, who is from Office of Educational Development in the College of Pharmacy . The workshop explored the following topics:
1) Types of interviews
2) Preparing for the interview
3) Types of questions
4) Practicing for questions
5) Handling difficult questions
6) STAR(R) (Situation, Task, Action, Result, Relate) technique for behavior interview questions
The handout is attached. There were nice discussions during the workshop and Dr. Scott was an entertaining and informative speaker. Dr. Scott has agreed to assist with additional questions and can be contacted via e-mail at doneka@umn.edu . |
